Cookie Policy

Last updated: September 10, 2026

This page explains the cookies and similar local storage used by Trades Reference.

Essential Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep you signed in securely. These are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled while still using an account:

  • A session cookie that identifies your logged-in session.
  • A CSRF-protection cookie used to prevent cross-site request forgery.

We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.

Local Storage

If you are not signed in, your theme (light/dark) preference and pinned trades are saved in your browser's local storage instead of on our servers. This data stays on your device and is not sent to us; clearing your browser data will remove it.

Managing Your Preferences

The first time you visit, a banner at the bottom of the screen lets you accept or opt out of anonymous analytics tracking (see the Privacy Policy's "Your Choices" section for what that covers). You can revisit this decision anytime by clicking Cookie Preferences in the site footer, or from the Privacy & Cookies section of Account Settings if you're signed in. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage, not a tracking cookie, and takes effect immediately.

Managing Cookies

Most browsers let you block or delete cookies through their settings. Blocking essential cookies will prevent you from staying signed in.
